"Old Friends", poetry with Alice Graves, Ellen Greenfield, and Ellen Kanhar

Ellen Greenfield, who lives in Brooklyn and Jefferson, NY, received her MFA from New York University’s Creative Writing Program and her MA in Journalism from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications. Her previous books include Come From Nowhere, a novel, House Dangerous, the first consumer book about indoor pollution, You Can Have an Easier Delivery, aimed at alleviating women’s fear of childbirth, and SoupStrong, a cookbook of recipes for cancer patients.  White Roses was a finalist in the Pirate’s Alley Faulkner Society’s competition in the Novel category.

 

Ellen Kahaner has published six books for children and young adults and has written articles on a wide variety of subjects, from radiation spills in Juarez, Mexico to Florence Lawrence, 'the first movie star.' Recently, her one-act play, OMG, Chopsticks! was performed in several theaters in NYC. She is a retired elementary school Reading Specialist and currently teaches adult literacy for 1199 SEIU.

 

Alice Graves lives in Woodstock. Her work has appeared in Chronogram, Weston Magazines, Ducts.org, Atomic Poetry and other publications. She has written for the Tampa Bay Times and LegalZoom. Her memoir piece “How to Find Your Son and Save Him From Bears and Machete-Wielding Zombies” is included in 2017’s Best of Ducts and she won Honorable Mention in the 2016 Woodstock Bookfest Story Slam. She is the author of The Small Library Manager’s Handbook, which, despite excellent reviews, admittedly has a limited audience.
